Deconstructing Syndromes: The First Ten Years of the RDoC Project – Luc Faucher
!!! This meeting will exceptionally start at 3pm.
A little more than ten years ago, the NIHM proposed a new integrative research framework, the RDoC [Research Domain Criteria], to advance the understanding of mental disorders and to advance the development of new treatments. This new framework left behind the DSM, whose grain and categories (but also assumptions) were deemed inadequate to advance research, for a more neuroscience-friendly framework. In this presentation, I will explain what the DSM is all about and present the developments and modifications it has undergone in the last ten years. Given the theme of this seminar, I will pay particular attention to the way in which CDOR proposes a remodeling of psychiatric symptoms.
